Azsa Snipes M.Ed

Hi, I’m Azsa. I’m a licensed educator with nearly a decade of experience helping students bridge the gap between "getting by" and true math mastery. My journey began in the classroom, fueled by a Master’s in Secondary Education from Old Dominion University and a Bachelor’s in Chemistry from the College of William & Mary.

The reality of the system hit home for me the year I was assigned 32 students, but only given 30 desks in the classroom. In that moment, the math was clear: it is impossible to provide the personal attention a child deserves when they literally don’t have a seat at the table. I saw too many bright students getting swept along by a curriculum that moves faster than their understanding, trapped in a cycle of "learning for the test" and forgetting it by Monday.

I left the "numbers game" behind to create a program where your student is never just a face in the crowd, but an individual with a clear, supported path to mastery. In my sessions, every student is seen, heard, and supported.

“My mission is to make sure your student has the tools, encouragement, and personal attention they need to succeed this year and in every math class ahead.”

Middle school is a critical time to build a foundation that lasts. My methodology is built on three core pillars designed to move students from "confused" to "confident."

01
Assess, Not Guess

Many students struggle with new concepts because of a single missing building block from a previous year. I identify these hidden gaps so we aren’t building on a shaky foundation. From there, we create a custom roadmap that addresses your student's specific needs

02
Intentional Practice

Schools often teach a topic and move on immediately. I use a scheduled review of old concepts to move skills from short-term memory to permanent mastery.

03
Real-Time Feedback

In many classes, "feedback" is just a score on a screen before moving to the next topic. I replace that guesswork by catching misconceptions in the moment and discussing the why.
